Waiting is one of the hardest things to do in life! I think for most of us, it is a challenge to wait because we may want to know the outcome of a situation as quick as the thought comes into or crosses our minds. And so we sit and wait sometimes for hours, days, months or even years. Also, this world moves very fast in 2016. Waiting on something like the internet to respond can be a cause for panic if it is not up and running when we want it to be. Anyone remember waiting on dial up? We’ve come a long way from those days.
One thing that we have to remember is that to every decision, there is a consequence (good or bad) to that decision. And God always knows best. Sometimes we have to wait so that we can see that God was showing us something, or growing us on the journey or teaching us something of great value. This we can only see in time when we look back. God never said that we had to understand His ways but to TRUST His ways. In seasons of waiting, our response should be to simply trust God; in His ways not ours. I love the Scripture below that speaks of this.
Proverbs 3:5-6 “Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.”
